In order to select the optimum monitors for displaying medical images, Eizo Nanao Corporation prepared a document which provides a written and graphical overview of various grayscale gradations differences, brightness stabilization and how to keep to Monitors DICOM Part 14 standard compliant which is now used as a standard to adjust the grayscale tone characteristic of monitors used in the medical field.
