Meet aycan at Medica 2014 in November

aycan is going to present its print, post-processing and teleradiology DICOM PACS- solutions at the Medica exhibition 2014. 

The world’s largest medical exhibition, the Medica, will be held from 12th until 15th November in Düsseldorf, Germany. A combination of exhibition, conferences and forums, attract each year numerous visitors from all over the world to the exhibition. 

aycan Digitalsysteme GmbH, a PACS provider from Würzburg in Germany, will present its multi-modality post-processing workstation aycan OsiriX PRO, the teleradiology iPad app aycan mobile and the original DICOM paper print solution aycan xray-print at its booth E10 in Hall 15. 

From a simple X-ray image to a multislice-CT or as a 2D to 5D Viewer, aycan OsiriX PRO presents itself as a workstation that is capable to process a full range of medical image data. The post-processing workstation is DICOM compatible and thus can handle all common DICOM services and integrates uncompromising in each RIS and patient management systems. Fast image loading times, an intuitive operation and the possibility to choose an application-specific package offer an optimal workflow. 

For teleradiology, aycan presents the mobile PACS Viewer aycan mobile for the iPad. With aycan mobile, medical images can be viewed at the bedside of the patient. The password-protected iPad app, approved as a diagnostic app with CE label and FDA clearance, uses a 256-bit encryption for the transmission and storage of DICOM images. Functions such as synchronizing position and image manipulation, single view and split view, voice recording (dictation) or the setting of ROIs are also supported.

Frederick Memorial Health Care System installs additional aycan xray-print solutions

DICOM paper-print solution saves film costs and improves communication with referring physicians and patients


We have successfully installed two additional aycan xray-print solutions at Frederick Memorials’ health care facilities in Frederick, Maryland.  Since 2007, aycan has installed a total of six systems for the health care system.


Frederick Memorial chose aycan xray-print, a vendor neutral DICOM paper-print solution, to replace film printers in all of its six health care facilities to help improve communication with referring physicians and patients and reduce costs.  Compatible with PACS and modalities using the DICOM 3.0 standard, the aycan xray-print solutions fit seamlessly into Frederick Memorials’ existing workflow.


“In addition to the tremendous cost savings, aycan’s expert knowledge of DICOM, the very smooth integration, and excellent continued service and support are the reasons we chose them again to replace our remaining film systems,” said Brian Petrie,  PACS Administrator at Frederick Memorial.  “Since our first aycan xray-print installation in 2007, we have achieved well over 70% savings in our annual film costs as well as improving communications with our customers.”

Xerox and aycan are a hit in Healthcare

By printing medical imagery on paper using Xerox devices, clinicians can share information with each other and with patients more easily than using film—and save healthcare organizations 90% off traditional film costs.

Das 96. Jahrestreffen der Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) findet auch in diesem Jahr wieder in Chicago statt und steht unter dem Motto "Personalized Medicine". Das Treffen ist weltweit das Wichtigste und Größte seiner Art. Vom 28. November bis zum 3. Dezember werden ca. 50.000 Teilnehmer in der Windy City erwartet. Neben den zahlreichen wissenschaftlichen Präsentationen und Fortbildungen wird die angegliederte Industrieausstellung das Interesse der Besucher auf sich ziehen. In drei Hallen präsentieren die Aussteller ihre Produkte und Lösungen.

aycan zeigt integrierte PACS Lösungen auf der RSNA 2009

Das 95. Jahrestreffen der Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) findet auch in diesem Jahr wieder in Chicago statt und steht unter dem Motto "Quality Counts". Das Treffen ist weltweit das Wichtigste und Größte seiner Art. Vom 29. November bis zum 04. Dezember werden ca. 50.000 Teilnehmer in der Windy City erwartet. Neben den zahlreichen wissenschaftlichen Präsentationen und Fortbildungen wird die angegliederte Industrieausstellung das Interesse der Besucher auf sich ziehen. In drei Hallen präsentieren die Aussteller ihre Produkte und Lösungen.

In august 2009 an aycan xray-print system reached a historic counter value.The system is setup with an aycan xray-print printserver and a Xerox DCCS50 color multifunction device. In 8 years the system replaced without any major issues 1,000,000 medical laserfilms with plain paper prints. The owner saved approximately US$ 1,900,000.
