Great response from the 2011 German Radiology Congress

For the 16th time, aycan exhibited at the German Radiology Congress which was held from June 1 – 4, 2011. 


The mobile classroom featuring  hands-on OsiriX PRO workshops was well received by congress participants. One participant stated, "aycan brings a new dynamic to the radiology exhibition".  Another visitor commented "A clear design of the booth and great hands-on workshops emphasize aycan’s competence". This is just a small sample of the positive feedback received from booth visitors.

aycan also focused on presenting the  xr.ay iPad App for tele-radiology which allows for the the fast and secure transfer of DICOM images from hospitals and imaging centers to radiologists and referring physicians.



In addition, aycan contributed to congress by presenting at the workshop, "Open Source Software in Radiology".


The 92nd Annual German Radiology Congress was held in Hamburg, Germany for the first time.

Große Resonanz beim Deutschen Röntgenkongress 2011

Zum 16. Mal stellte aycan auf dem Deutschen Röntgenkongress vom 1. - 4. Juni 2011 aus. Das mobile Klassenzimmer mit den Hands-on OsiriX PRO Kursen wurde von den Kongressteilnehmern gut angenommen. 


"aycan bringt hier ein neue Dynamik in die Industrieausstellung" und "Das klare Design des Standes und die guten Kurse unterstreichen aycans Kompetenz" sind nur zwei von vielen positiven Rückmeldungen der Standbesucher.

Weitere Schwerpunkte waren Live-Präsentationen des xr.ay iPad App für die Teleradíologie und das Zuweisermarketing.

aycan steuerte ausserdem einen Vortrag für den @git Workshop "Open Source Software in der Radiologie" bei.

DRG 2011 Workshop: "AGIT I - Open Source Software in der Radiologie"

Am 1. Juni 2011 findet von 12:00 bis 13:30 Uhr im Rahmen des 92. Deutschen Röntgenkongresses (6. Gemeinsamer Kongress der DRG und ÖRG) unter dem Vorsitz von Prof. Dr. Elmar Kotter ein Workshop der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Informationstechnologie (AGIT) statt. 


Die Headline "Open Source Software  in der Radiologie" ist Programm. Es gibt zwei Vorträge zur Nutzung von Open Source Software als Medizinprodukt aus klinischer Sicht (PD Dr. Weisser, Universitätsmedizin Mannheim) und aus Sicht eines Herstellers (Stephan Popp, aycan Digitalsysteme GmbH), sowie eine Diskussion über dieses immer mehr an Bedeutung zunehmende Thema.

In order to send you own DICOM images to the xr.ay App on the iPad, you need to download the OsiriX PRO software with the aycan xr.ay App plugin. Otherwise contact aycan or your local aycan Reseller for more information and a personal offer.

aycan successfully tested its’ teleradiology app for use on the new iPad 2. The multi-threaded architecture of the aycan app harmonizes with the iPad 2’s new Dual Core 2 Processor. And, with the improved features and functionality of the iPad 2 over its predecessor, the aycan app works even better:

• The transmission of images is clearly faster because the de-compression and decryption ability of the app is improved due to the iPad 2’s new A5 processor.

• With the iPad 2’s new graphics’ chip, displaying images (scrolling and W/L) in split-view mode is significantly improved.

• With the new video out support feature, medical monitors can now be connected to the iPad 2, which allows the app to be used for image viewing where higher resolution is required.

The app is currently available for free from Apple's European App Store. The app was designed to allow for simple, fast, and safe transfer of DICOM images from hospitals and imaging centers to radiologists and referring physicians with an iPad. It’s designed to work seamlessly with aycan OsiriX PRO, easily allowing DICOM images to be sent from Osirix PRO to any iPad including those that are 3G UMTS enabled. The new app does not require the set up of a VPN tunnel as all images are automatically encrypted. The aycan teleradiology app has received the CE-mark. FDA clearance to follow.
