
According to an IBM factsheet, there will be a huge demand for storage capacity in the future. The interesting thing about this news is, that medical images will be a huge part of the worldwide storage.
"Only 4 percent of U.S. physicians have a fully functional electronic health records system and 13 percent have a basic one. 25 At 300MB per average record, medical imaging storage adds up fast by 2010 medical images will take up 30 percent of the world's storage"
